Little Rippers

Ever since the start of Daily Adrenaline, we always wanted to put on a skate competition. It’s what we grew up doing and what we had the most familiarity with. We also had a bunch of contacts that helped us by organizing the competition, donating to the prize pool, or just showing up to support.

We were fortunate enough to find a multitude of skate shops that were willing to sponsor the contest. In exchange for donating to our prize pool — boards, shirts, socks, and more — each shop had their logo on the shirts we gave away to each contestant. This enabled us to have enough giveaways to get the kids excited to enter.

Our Sponsors

Because of the number of entrants, we had to split the contest into two classes: Beginner and Advanced. We organized the kids, split them up based on skill level, and divided them into heats.

Each heat was ten minutes long and judges were positioned around the skatepark, keeping track what kids landed what tricks. At the end, the judges would speak amongst themselves and decide who moved on to the finals. The weather wasn’t working with us that day, so we just barely made it through the finals before it started raining.

After deciding the winner of the Beginner’s section and handing out the prizes, we postponed the Advanced heats to the following day. We didn’t have a photographer that was able to come and shoot that day. In spite of that, the weather was gorgeous, everyone from the previous day showed up, and all the kids ripped.

Thank you!

We’d like to thank everyone who came out: the parents of the entrants, all of our sponsors, Phipps Park for having us, and big thanks all of our entrants! We couldn’t have done it without you. Keep an eye out for our next event!
